Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP)

As lifespans continue to increase, traditional ideas of retirement and working years are being re-defined. Our Senior Employment Program is building work and job readiness skills and putting seniors back to work in the community. SCSEP has two purposes: to provide useful community services and to foster individual economic independence through training and realistic job placements.

Examples of job placement and/or training assignments include Assistant or support positions in healthcare facilities or office settings, serving meals to the elderly, childcare or teachers’ assistants, data entry clerks, grounds maintenance, industrial assembler.

To participate in our SCSEP program, we have the following requirements:

  • Must be 55 years or older
  • Experience barriers to employment
  • Have limited or low income
  • Be unemployed but have a strong desire to return to work

“By doing many thing in the office I became more sure of myself and now I
do the office work with confidence.” Margie
